Update!

Hello Everyone!!

Wow! It's been a busy semester! I'm so thankful that summer break is here at last! :)

HCJB Global, the mission board I'll be interning with, sent me an email recently with a link to an account so that people can donate money towards the mission trip.

Here is the link to donate! For the "Give to Missionaries" option, put Amanda Fortner in the name box, and in the account number box, put 128227 .  I would appreciate your help in raising the support necessary for this trip, and most importantly, your prayers.

Liberty University's founder, Dr.Jerry Falwell, said, "Nothing of Eternal Importance Is Ever Accomplished Apart From Prayer!" I believe that with all of my heart. I humbly ask for your prayers as I wait to see how God will provide everything for this trip.

Please pray that I will remain faithful in seeking Him as I prepare for the trip.

Ask that I will be patient and trust Him as I wait for the resources necessary for the trip.

Pray that I will be given an opportunity to be involved in the process of obtaining support.

Most importantly, pray that the lives of the people our team will come in contact with will be ready to hear the Gospel and that all their spiritual barriers will be broken and that the Holy Spirit will open their eyes to see the Truth.

Thank you all so much, and God Bless!!!

Hello Everyone!

This is my very first blog, and I'm extremely excited to join the world of blogging!
I am starting this blog because I have a very unique and rare opportunity that I want to share with all of you. I was accepted to a mission trip/internship with HCJB Global this summer. (This is their website if you want to learn more!) I found out about this trip here at Liberty University and, although initially I didn't give it a second glance, I just kept coming back to it. I asked God to show me if this was His plan for me this summer, and He did! I am already amazed at all that He has been teaching me just in the past few weeks about patience, persistence, His provision, and waiting on Him patiently and actively!

The internship is held in two places: Worthing and London, England. I will be at the Olympics with a team of other college students and team leaders from the HCJB  mission board. We will be in Worthing for one week training and getting to know each other, and then we travel to London for the remaining three weeks. The main goal of the program is to use journalism, social media and personal interaction to present a Christian worldview through the Olympic games and to evangelize people from all over the world.

I can't wait to see what God has in store for me and for the trip this summer! I humbly ask for your prayers as I try to raise support and for all that God has planned for these few weeks to make an impact in His kingdom!
